RALEIGH, N.C. – A Good Samaritan got the scare of her life this week when someone she was trying to help stole her car with her 12-year-old daughter inside.

  • A woman trying to help after a car crash had her car stolen with her 12 year old inside.
  • The little girl was found safe a short time later at a Walmart.
  • Police are looking for Toney Bridges.

Tasha Dillard says she was driving home to Wendell when she saw a truck flipped over on I-87 near Hodge Road.

Dillard says she got out of her car to help when she saw the door of her SUV open and a man, who had been a passenger in the truck, got inside and drove off.

“He got in the car,” explains Dillard. “I grabbed the door knob. I was shaking it like ‘No my daughter is in the car! My daughter is in the car!’ He just took off down the highway.”

Dillard says her daughter was on the phone with her grandmother at the time.

She was found unharmed after the SUV was abandoned near a Walmart in Knightdale.
