  • The post has over 400 comments.

In their Facebook post, the department says, “EVEN THOUGH THIS INDIVIDUAL HAS BEEN CHARGED FOR COMMITTING A CRIME, HE IS STILL SOMEONE'S CHILD/FAMILY MEMBER. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT HE HAS SUFFERED SOME TYPE OF INJURY. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM MAKING JOKES/NEGATIVE COMMENTS. HAVE A BLESSED DAY.”

Orlando Lopez, of Palm Coast, Florida, was arrested on Friday for possession of meth and cocaine. He was placed into the custody of the Robeson County Detention Center with a $250,000 secured bond.

The request has seen positive feedback in the comments section. One woman wrote, “I think all you sheriffs are so awesome and you are all in my prayers. I think this guy is lucky to have you nice officers speak up for him. Your an accreditation to the force.”

Others, however, disagreed with the sentiment with one person saying, “I thought the entire reason to post mugshots on Facebook was to publicly shame the arrested.”
