HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. -- Faculty and staff at Campbell University in Buies Creek spent a few hours training for something that they hope never happens.
- For the last five years, the school has held a mock mass casualty exercise.
- Though Saturday's exercise was make-believe, the scenario seemed straight out of the headlines. It involved an active shooter on campus.
- Several other county agencies also took part in this drill.
For the last five years, the school has held a mock mass casualty exercise. And though Saturday's exercise was make-believe, the scenario seemed straight out of the headlines. It involved an active shooter on campus. Dozens of people were shot, some fatally. But again, none of it was real.
Several other county agencies also took part in this drill.
After everything was completed, a briefing session was held to scrutinize what part of the training worked well. And also what needed improvement.
