Cheaper by the Days has been open in the former Macy's space at Cary Towne Center for the last six months.

They sell overstock and returns from major retailers at a largely discounted price. Everything is $6 on Fridays and lowers to $1 per item by Monday.

Owners of the store say they are able to take advantage of the changing buying habits of customers.

"We are able to lease this space at a reasonable rate to where we can do this," said one of the four co-owners Ken Campbell. "We can put the overstock, the overruns, selling it at a descending price model and customers love the treasure and bargain hunt."

The store donates whatever they don't sell at the end of the day Monday to the women's shelter in Raleigh and the Ronald McDonald House.
