FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death at an Express Mart gas station in Fayetteville.
- A cashier was shot to death at a gas station in Fayetteville Wednesday night.
- It happened at the Express Mart at the intersection of Clinton Road and Cedar Creek Road.
- The suspects ID's have not been released.
It happened in the 1500 block of Clinton Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Two days later, dozens of people from around the community showed up to the store to drop off items for a growing memorial at the door.
Fayetteville police identified the cashier as 33-year-old Rayd Al Qadhi and medical crews pronounced him dead at the scene.
"I was really bothered. How could somebody do this? After growing up around here and being here all my life and things like this is still happening. It's really sad," Fayetteville resident Chris Williams said.
Neighbors say Al Qadhi was well liked in the community. Family members say he recently moved to the United States, has a wife, a baby girl, and was expecting another child.
Police caught two suspects on surveillance video who were driving a silver sedan.
