WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – The Fuquay-Varina Board of Commissioners will discuss the future of the former Crooked Creek golf course Tuesday.
- Wake County Commissioners have voted to give the town of Fuquay the former Crooked Creek golf course property for free.
- The county bought the land in 2018 for $4 million.
- The land must be used as a park or other public space.
On Monday, Wake County Commissioners voted unanimously to turn the property over to Fuquay-Varina at no cost. The county purchased 10 parcels of the property in June 2018 for $4 million, with Wake County Schools buying one to use for a future elementary school.
The town will be given the property under the condition that it only be used for a park, open space, or another public purpose.
