DURHAM, N.C. -- Jordan High School has named Rasheed Wallace as their next boys' basketball coach.
The announcement was made Friday morning.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Wallace attended UNC Chapel Hill from 1993-1995, helping lead the Tar Heels to a Final Four appearance.
He declared for the NBA Draft after his sophomore season and was drafted fourth overall by the Washington Bullets (now Washington Wizards). In his sixteen seasons in the NBA, he is most known for his runs with the Portland Trail Blazers (1996-2004) and the Detroit Pistons (2004-2009).
Wallace retired once in 2010 before coming back for a season, then retiring again in 2013.
