Ravenscroft board chair and head of school is calling this a "cowardly act of intimidation and hatred."
The school says they're investigating the incident but recognize that the removal of the graffiti doesn't heal the wounds that it created.
Students say the school held an assembly around 3 p.m. just before they were released for the day, but say it was not only hard for them to stay focused and learn, but also hard on some of the teachers.
“It was for a reaction, we were like 'Why would someone do this?' Like we hear people saying it, but to write it on the wall of the school is extremely bold,” said junior Arica Scott.
“Whoever did this, I hope this will affect them and help them realize their mistakes and help this influence others who might have been thinking something similar, have similar views, to know this is not OK,” said Maia Hughey, also a junior.
