• On Wednesday, faculty leaders held a last-minute meeting with interim UNC System President Bill Roper
• A nationwide search for a permanent chancellor will begin this summer

Thursday is the last day for UNC Chapel Hill Chancellor, Carol Folt.

On Wednesday, faculty leaders held a last minute meeting with interim UNC System President Bill Roper.

They went over a short list of possible candidates.

Roper Hopes to name an interim chancellor in the coming days, if not sooner.

"I want to do this as soon as possible because I know the university needs to know what path forward is," said Bill Roper.

A nationwide search for a permanent chancellor will begin this summer.
