RALEIGH, N.C. -- Che Empanadas is adding spice to the downtown Raleigh food scene with its homemade and authentic Argentinian empanadas and desserts.

Anabel and Mark Rossbach are taking their empanada catering business to the next level with its new brick-and-mortar location inside the freshly renovated Transfer Company Food Hall on East Davie Street.

For the last five years, the Rossbachs have been sharing their Argentinian culture and cuisine with the Triangle.

The owners say the business concept started organically with a mere craving for a slice of home.

However, as friends continued to praise their assorted pastries, the couple realized there was a need to fill a void of Argentinian food in the region. That's when the catering business was born.

The complex flavors inside every carefully crafted empanada has left a resounding impression in Raleigh's food scene.

The growth of Che Empanadas also ran parallel to the fast-moving revitalization of Raleigh's downtown district.

Over the last year, the Rossbachs were asked to join the Transfer Company Food Hall as a vendor during an extensive renovation to the historic Carolina Coach Garage and Shops.

As Che Empanadas continues its catering business, the doors are now open at its new location.

However the food hall is operating on limited hours as additional food and beverage vendors open.

The restaurant and food hall will be open daily in the near future.
