RALEIGH, N.C. – Community activists are speaking out after new charges were filed against a State Trooper arrested for the assault of a Raleigh homeless man back in April.
- Trooper Michael Blake is facing new obstruction charges.
- Blake and two other law enforcement officers were charged after being filmed beating a Raleigh man, Kyron Hinton, back in April.
- Blake was fired from the department after the incident.
Three officers in total were charged in the beating of Kyron Hinton.
State Troopers Michael Blake and Tabitha Davis and Wake County Deputy Cameron Broadwell were all arrested for assault.

Advocates say the charges are a step in the right direction, but want Raleigh city leaders to form a citizen advisory board and offer additional officer training.
Troopers Blake and Davis were both fired after the incident.
Deputy Broadwell remains on leave.
