A very quiet weather setup is now in place around the region. A sprawling area of high pressure, currently over the Midwest, will slowly work through the eastern US over the next couple of days. The result for us will be quiet weather, and a nice chance to dry things out.

We will continue to have plenty of sunshine today with a lot of our highs in the 60s, but some 50s in some Outer Banks areas and into the northern parts of the area.... altogether a great day to spend some time outside.

Tuesday will again feature sunshine, but highs will be a bit cooler than today.

Clouds will increase later Wednesday, but Wednesday will remain dry.

Our next storm system then arrives Thursday. Rain will become likely during the day, and the shower chances will likely linger into Friday. Many areas could see over 1" of rain, and it's possible that some of us could again get over 2."

At this point, the upcoming weekend looks nice with sunshine and cool temperatures.
