As sheriff, Wilkins will be using his faith to implement a program called "Badges and Bibles" in hopes of turning around troubled youth in the county. Deputies are receiving new patrol cars, plus each officer will be sporting new uniform patches.
Wilkins said he made changes to tell criminals that change is here.
"To the criminal element, we're coming," Wilkins said. "To the good people of Robeson County, give us a chance. It won't happen overnight, it didn't occur overnight. Just give us a chance and I will make a better place that you can call home."
