RALEIGH, N.C. -- The widow of US Army Sergeant Justin Onwordi is taking home a "recycled car" from Caliber Collision's program for veterans and first responders.
- Her husband was kiled in 2004
- It comes at a time when she is starting a new job
- She is also a veteran
"It's overwhelming. It's awesome to be receiving such great gifts. I mean those are like major things that like everyone needs so I don't take it lightly at all," veteran and Gold Star wife Ebony Onwordi said.
It comes at a time when she's starting a new job to help in veteran outreach.
"Since I am a veteran myself, I can relate more into what we'll be doing which is be helping other veterans receive their benefits, help them out as much as I've been helped so I'm going to pass the torch," Onwordi said.
Sgt. Justin Onwordi was killed when an IED detonated near his vehicle in Baghdad while on patrol during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004.
