A developing area of low pressure brought more clouds to the Carolinas on Thursday and it will bring a good chance of rain on Friday.

Through the rest of the night, clouds will increase across the area with cool overnight lows.

Rain chances will increase by Friday morning and that chance of precipitation will remain high throughout the day on Friday into Friday evening. Look for the rain to decrease to scattered showers overnight Friday into Saturday. Though Saturday will not be a wash-out, we'll see clouds and scattered showers around the area for much of the day.

As the low moves farther away on Sunday, dry weather develops across central North Carolina for the end of the weekend.

In the tropics, a disturbance in the central Atlantic has a high chance of development over the next three to five days. If it becomes a storm, it will be named Oscar.
