RALEIGH, N.C. -- An Apex man is accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting, and seriously injuring a 15-year-old girl in Raleigh.
- Sean Klinek, 28, made his first appearance in court Thursday
- He's accused of slapping the girl's behind, dislocating her jaw, and raping her in her backyard in May 2017
- Klinek could face life in prison
Sean Klinek, 28, made his first appearance in court Thursday.
The prosecuting attorney says the victim was 15 at the time when Klinek is said to have slapped the girl's behind at a neighborhood pool before following her home, dislocating her jaw, and raping her in her backyard in May 2017.
She says the man was a total stranger and it wasn't until February of this year that the victim could put a name to his face.
Her attorney says she recognized Klinek from his mugshot when he was arrested for armed robbery.
Police found him in Wilmington Wednesday and arrested him.
Klinek could face life in prison and his bond is set at $1.5 million.
The district attorney says they're also looking to see if similar sexual assault claims that happened in the area may be related to this one.
