WEST END, NORTH CAROLINA – Sunday loved ones in Moore County said their final goodbyes to former State Representative Richard Morgan.
- He died October 10 at 66 years old at Duke University Medical Center
- Morgan was the Republican Co-speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1990 to 2006
- Close family said their final goodbyes at Morgan's burial in Southern Pines where he grew up
He died October 10 at 66 years old at Duke University Medical Center. Funeral services were held at the Faith Baptist Church in West End.
Morgan was the Republican Co-speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1990 to 2006. Morgan's political run ended in 2006 when he lost the Republican primary election.
"I was so pleased to hear from the minister today that Richard wants everyone to accept Jesus as their savior so they can come to heaven and to see him," friend, Phil Kirk said. "That's just like Richard, always thinking about other people."
