The Raleigh-Durham Airport has already recorded 52 days this year with a high of 90 or higher.  That number will continue to grow each day this week.   According to information from the Southeast Regional Climate Center, the average number of 90 degree or higher days in a year for the Triangle is just 38.

Tuesday's high will soar to near 90 and the low 90s across the Triangle and Sandhills.  The humidity will make it feel more like the upper 90s to near 100.  Much of the day will be partly cloudy with only a 20% chance for an isolated afternoon storm.

High temperatures near 90 to the low 90s with a heat index near 100 is forecast each day through the second half of the week.   There's less than a 20% chance for afternoon storms for Wednesday through Friday.

The chance for afternoon storms will increase over the upcoming weekend.  A high around 90 is forecast again for Saturday.
