CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The granddaughter of former UNC-Chapel Hill chancellor J. Carlyle Sitterson is the fourth person arrested in the toppling of Silent Sam.

• Margarita Sitterson is the fourth person arrested for the toppling of Silent Sam.
• She's the granddaughter of former UNC chancellor J. Carlyle Sitterson.
• She's facing charges for defacing a public statue and  public disturbance. 

Margarita Sitterson has been arrested and charged in the Aug. 20 toppling of the Confederate statue. She faces charges for defacing a public statue and public disturbance. 

Sitterson was chancellor at UNC from 1966-1972 and an award for first-year teaching students still exists in his name.
