RALEIGH, N.C. -- North Hills is ready to show off their diverse collection of restaurants in a special way.

  • The restaurant week starts Monday and ends Sunday
  • More than 20 restaurants participating

The first-ever North Hills Restaurant Week starts on Monday and runs through Sunday. More than 20 restaurants are participating with special plates and deals ready for food lovers.

Mura Sushi is among the restaurants taking part in their restaurant week. They're one of the oldest continuous restaurants in the revamped North Hills, and their management says the flavor of the city-within-a-city has grown since the beginning.

"Twelve years ago there was almost nothing," said Mitch Bowling of Mura Sushi. "You could sit on our patio and there were no buildings on the horizon. Now we have so many new concepts in the area and so many old favorites that we're innovating as much as we can."

In contrast, Viva Chicken has only been open in North Hills for two months. They say they hope restaurant week draws more people to their Peruvian style of cooking.

"We're hoping a good amount of people come in, even if they've never heard of Peruvian food," said Ashley May of Viva Chicken. "Maybe that will entice them to come in."
