FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Eight people are without a place to call home after fire damaged their Fayetteville apartment.

Officials say it happened around 1 a.m. Friday at the Summertime Apartments on Jeffery Drive and Riley Road.

There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the people who lived in the apartment.

No one was hurt.
