FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- A toddler is in critical condition after being found unconscious in a pool Wednesday.

  • The two year old was found unconscious in a Fayetteville pool
  • She was last listed in critical condition.
  • Family tried to perform CPR on her. 

The two year old gained access to the family pool at a residence along the 1700 block of Nuthatch Road.

It happened around 1:45 p.m.

Family members attempted CPR until emergency personnel arrived on scene and transported her to Cape Fear Medical Center.

The little girl was unconscious when she was taken to the hospital. She remains in critical condition, yet stable. 

The pool was above ground and is large enough to hold several people. 

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Youth Services Unit are actively investigating the incident.
