WAKE COUNTY, N.C. -- A contractor died after being stung by wasps while working on a house in Wake County on Monday. 

• Contractor stung while working on a deck project.
• Man apparently had an allergic reaction.
• Stings led to cardiac arrest. 

The homeowner says the man had an allergic reaction to the stings which sent him into cardiac arrest.        

The contractor's son-in-law says they were tearing out floorboards on a deck when they discovered a nest under the porch.

He was taken to the hospital by emergency crews and later died.

The man’s name has not been released.
