DURHAM, N.C. – A 19-year-old Hillside High School has been charged with bringing a rifle and a high capacity magazine onto campus.

Durham County Sheriff's deputies got a tip that a student had a gun at the school Tuesday.

Authorities say Dreldon Majette had a Kel-tec 9 mm long rifle and ammunition in his vehicle.

Deputies say Majette did not make any threats or present the rifle in a threatening manner. However, bringing a gun on school property is a felony.

Majette was charged and released on a $15,000 bond.
