DURHAM, N.C. -- Durham police officers were dispatched to the Streets of Southpoint Mall in Durham Monday after multiple bomb threats were made over the course of two days.
On Sunday afternoon, a man calling from a Virginia area code made four separate phone calls in which threats were made.
Two additional threats were received on Monday. One call was received around 8 a.m. and the second one came in shortly after noon.
The mall released a statement Monday afternoon stating: "Out of an abundance of caution, the Streets of Southpoint had a delayed opening this morning. We are working in collaboration with the Durham Police Department as they conduct a full investigation. We ask all queries are directed to the Durham P.D. at this time. It is always disheartening when incidents like this occur, but please know the safety and wellbeing of our customers and employees is of the utmost importance."
