RALEIGH -- A Wake County superior court judge is retiring.

Judge Donald Stephens will step down on Nov. 1.

Stephens became the senior resident superior court judge for the 10th Judicial District in 2001.

"Judge Stephens has served with integrity, with excellence, and with an unwavering commitment to the rule of law and justice," said Chief Justice Mark Martin.

Upon retirement, Stephens will be the longest serving resident superior court judge in the county.
