CONCORD, N.C. - No race Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

As a result of Hurricane Matthew, Bank of America 500 has been rescheduled to Sunday.

All day Saturday, the effects of Hurricane Matthew could be seen and felt at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.

NASCAR officials said with a more favorable condition Sunday, they’ll postpone the race scheduled for Saturday night to Sunday.

However, that didn't stop avid racing fans from camping out and waiting out the rain.

“Being a race fan, that's what a race fan is. We come out and the weather, it's going to do whatever it's going to do,” Charles Smith said.

And for people who've been coming to this race for many years, postponement due to weather isn't anything new.

“Yes, it rained last year. They ran it Sunday, so we waited through the rain,” Smith explained.

“Whether it's raining or not we love camping anyways. So that's what we're doing. We're doing what we love to do,” Smith’s cousin Raymond Nunez said.

Charlotte Motor Speedway say the green flag will fall at noon Sunday followed by the Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina 300.
