DURHAM -- The Durham Police Department and Durham County Sheriff's Office have answered the call from the Atlanta Police Department to participate in the running man challenge, in a big way.
The police department starts out at the top of a parking garage, receiving orders to deliver "a real running man challenge," to which they answer, "sir, yes sir!"
Though the police department headquarters is shown in the beginning of the video, members of the police department venture all across the city, even getting a local news station, the Durham 911 center, Bull City Heat Cheerleading, Walltown Children's Theatre, the NCCU Marching Band, among many others, involved.
After taking the challenge across the Bull City, the video ends with someone dressed in head to toe SWAT gear in a field with an explosion in the background.
Now the challenge has been passed on to Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Charlotte.
About a month ago, Fayetteville released their own running man challenge video.
Durham police say their running man challenge is to celebrate a "spirit of unity in the Bull City" and is dedicated to law enforcement and the community they serve.
