RALEIGH -- As final preparations are being made, and meetings being held- the Republican National Convention has now released the initial list of speakers for next week's nominating convention.

“I think it is going to go along with his theme and shake things up,” says David McLennan of Meredith College.

Shake things up in that it’s not a typical all-star, who's who of the political world. While you can expect to hear from some of Donald Trump’s biggest political allies, and also from many of his family members.

One republican star that will take the stage, is Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.  Ryan says his role is to help make sure the GOP is united.

“What I want to talk about is our ideas,” says Ryan. “I want to talk about the better way, what we're offering and how we need to unify as a party.”

With polling showing that presumptive democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's trust-worthiness is an issue with some voters, media reports indicate the first few nights of the convention will be themed toward highlighting that and other top campaign issues.

That message is being brought down to the local level where one North Carolina candidate says issues, like those associated with Benghazi and the email investigation, matter to voters.

“I think it does impact on her trust worthiness,” says Chuck Stuber, the republican candidate for NC Auditor. “And again, I think that is a very important characteristic in our president.”

But as excitement for the conventions builds, analysts say this list may not generate excitement, but it fits Donald Trump's campaign.

“As well as promoting that theme of we're not going to give you the same old same old that you see on Sunday morning talk shows,” says McLennan.
