FAYETTEVILLE -- A teen accused of helping his friend dispose of a 15-year-old's body was sentenced Monday to six to eight years in prison.
Authorities said Lock helped Danielle Locklear's ex-boyfriend, Je'Michael Malloy, dump her body in the South River in 2014 after Malloy choked her to death.
Dominic Lock pleaded guilty last year to accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. He confessed to helping Malloy tie cinder blocks to Locklear's body and driving Malloy to the dump site.
Locklear’s mother said the sentence could never be long enough, but it brings a sense of closure.
"It will never be over. We got some closure,” said Rowna Flower. “It's been a long ride, but it will never be over. I'm just glad my baby finally got some justice."
Lock will receive credit for one year already served.
Malloy was sentenced earlier this year for the second-degree murder of Locklear.
He will spend the next 25 to 31 years behind bars for the crime.
