NATIONWIDE -- Confederate flags will no longer fly at department of veteran affairs cemeteries.

On Thursday, the house voted to ban the display of the Confederate flag on those flagpoles, even on days when flags are permitted.

This is footage of a rally after state legislature in South Carolina ordered the flag removed from the state capitol after a mass shooting at a black church last year.

California Democrat Jared Huffman sponsored the new ban, saying the flag represents "racism, slavery and division."
