MOORE COUNTY, NC. -- Three candidates have been chosen to potentially take over as Moore County sheriff.

Sheriff Neil Godfrey announced his retirement last Wednesday, just a day before the SBI announced that they're investigating his office after an incident involving his son.

Godfrey says the investigation has nothing to with his decision to retire.

Time Warner Cable News was able to get a hold of two of the three candidates for the position of appointed sheriff.
