CHAPEL HILL -- UNC campus and Chapel Hill police are investigating three separate robberies that occurred within the past two weeks.

On April 10th, a person was robbed on campus near the intersection of West Cameron and South Columbia. On April 15th, a student was robbed at gunpoint at the Ehringhaus Residence Hall. On April 20th, another student was robbed, off campus, at the intersection of Henderson and North Streets. Among the robberies, the suspect stole money, wallets, cell phones and shoes.

"Obviously it's unsettling to the campus community," says Randy Young, spokesperson with the UNC Department of Public Safety.

Chapel Hill police say they're working with campus police to see if the crimes are committed. Young says nothing has been ruled out. Some students have expressed concern.

"It's definitely really unsettling, especially because there's been so many, so frequently," says freshman Wallace Beeson.

Young urges people to be very vigilant, especially as the academic year comes to a close and students are studying late night at the library for finals.

"Walk in groups wherever possible.  Keep your level of situational awareness high. Stay in well-lit area whenever possible. Use Point-to-Point services or transit to get off campus or around campus."
