RALEIGH – Pullen Park offers some of the best seafood around over Labor Day weekend.
For the first ever Raleigh Seafood Festival, area vendors featured catches from the coastline.
Festival goers even got to eat all the whole blue crabs they could take.
Organizers said the turnout was bigger than they expected, and that’s the great thing.
“We had a huge walk up, which we did not account for,” Jamell Hamilton, the owner of Southeast Crab Feast. “It's a good thing. But it tells us we have to plan for bigger and better, for people wanting fresh seafood. So again, this is what they wanted and this is what we bought to them.”
Hamilton said there are already talks of bringing the festival back next year with more vendors.
