GARLAND - Four people were killed and two others injured after a wreck near the Sampson-Bladen County line Sunday morning.
The state highway patrol said the truck flipped and hit a tree on Garland Highway at around 3:15 a.m.
Investigators said none of the six victims were wearing a seatbelt.
The driver who died has been identified as a 54-year-old Karl Jones of Florida.
The two injured, 29-year-old Rachel Gaulk and 24-year-old Victor Mendoza, were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Their condition is unknown.
Melquiades Ramirez, 24, Ricardo Ramirez, 21, and Luis Madrigal, 24, who were passengers from Harrells, NC, died.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash, but they do believe alcohol may have been a factor.
