Spurred by Carolina Ballet director Robert Weiss’ experience viewing a series of paintings by a Czech artist Alphonse Mucha in Prague, the ballet tells the tale of dawn, day, and dusk.

Titled, A Love in Times of the Day, the ballet features a special commissioned score by J. Mark Scearce, composed solely for renowned pianist, William Wolfram.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the love story also features Time Gallery and Weiss’s collaboration with Pulitzer prize-winning New York based composer, Paul Moravec. Spectrum News anchor Caroline Blair sat down with Scearce, and principal dancer Lara O'Brien, for a look inside the world premiere of this show.

A Love in Times of the Day premiers on Thursday, January 31 at Fletcher Opera House, inside the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh. A number of performances take place through February 9. For tickets, call 919-719-0900, or visit Ticketmaster’s website.
