Katie Husband joined the Spectrum News Triad newsroom and WXLV ABC-45 in August 2014 as a reporter.
She began her career in July 2011 as a multimedia journalist at WICZ FOX-40 in Binghamton, New York. During her time there, she covered the massive flooding events from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
She then moved into the radio news industry later that same year at Cayuga Radio Group's News/Talk WHCU station in Ithaca, New York. There she covered local government elections where the youngest mayor in the United States was elected to office.
Katie also filled in as anchor for the hour-long Evening Newswatch and co-anchored the Saturday Morning Newswatch shows. Katie loved the job but missed capturing stories with video.
In August 2012, Katie started at Spectrum News' Corning newsroom. There she covered murder trials, massive manufacturing layoffs, local agriculture growth and NASCAR races at Watkins Glen International.
