1. Opening statements, witness testimony begin in Anderson trial
The trial for Maxwell Anderson, the man accused of killing and dismembering Sade Robinson, began this week. Anderson faces three felony charges — first degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse and arson of property other than a building — related to the death of Robinson.

Gov. Tony Evers continued his annual “Pothole Patrol” tour for the fifth year in a row with a stop in Waukesha on Tuesday, May 27. According to his administration, more than 8,600 miles of roads and 2,000 bridges statewide have been repaired since 2019.
3. UnityPoint Health-Meriter nurses strike for more support, safety MAY NEED UPDATE
Nurses at UnityPoint Health-Meriter in Madison went on strike Tuesday, ringing cowbells and carrying picket signs to demand better support and safer conditions for their patients and themselves.
4. U.S. Women's Open at Erin Hills kicks off with excitement
The 80th U.S. Women's Open Championship at Erin Hills in Washington County kicked off this week with tons of excitement from local fans. It’s the first time in 13 years that the major event is being played in Wisconsin.
5. Police identify body of missing Lake Monona boater, ending weeks-long search
The search for the missing boater in Lake Monona came to an end this week after the Dane County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) confirmed a body recovered from Lake Monona on Friday, May 23 was the boater who had gone missing on May 16 after a sailboat capsized.
