Ariella Scalese joined Spectrum News North Carolina in August of 2018. Her forecasts can be seen weekday mornings in the Triad and Thursday/Friday afternoons in the Triangle.

In 5th grade Ariella learned she wanted to be a meteorologist. Her friend's dad spoke to the class and explained how he was a scientist, but also on TV! Ariella was sold and found her dream job. Each morning she would look at the weather section of the newspaper and pick out her outfit accordingly.

Ariella graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She earned a bachelor’s degree in earth and environmental science and minored in mass communication. She earned a certificate in broadcast meteorology through Mississippi State University in August of 2017 and holds the NWA Seal of Approval.

Ariella’s broadcasting career began in Laredo, Texas, where she was the weekday meteorologist. Her next job took her to Savannah, Georgia, where she was the weekend morning meteorologist. In addition to weather, Ariella also hosted a Pet of the Week segment at both stations.

Ariella grew up outside of Philadelphia and still cheers for her home teams (FLY EAGLES FLY). She enjoys all outdoor activities and is looking forward to running, hiking and sightseeing around NC.

Ariella also enjoys being involved with her community by volunteering. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, fostered dogs with One Love Animal Rescue and even cared for NICU babies at Memorial Health.

Ariella always looks forward to the school year, when she can visit local classrooms and talk to students about weather. Please feel free to contact Ariella about upcoming events in the Triad and Triangle.
