The Port Authority Bus Terminal is looking for a team to come up with a conceptual design for the terminal's facelift.
Applications for the "International Design and Deliverability Competition" are now being accepted.
Designs will be graded on cost-effectiveness, ability to meet bus and passenger demand, and the extent they minimize traffic on surrounding streets.
The Port Authority is looking for a team with a track record of designing large-scale, mass transportation projects.
The team with the best design receives $1 million.
