WORCESTER, Mass. — A nonprofit helping aspiring women entrepreneurs and business owners launch, build and grow their businesses opens a new Worcester location.

The Center for Women and Enterprise held a ribbon cutting on Main Street Thursday. They were located in Westborough, but said they wanted to be more accessible to their clients, and Worcester was a better fit.

The organization provides women with the resources, tools and support they need to achieve success and offers consultations, workshops and networking opportunities.

"As entrepreneurs a lot of times they say it's a lonely path,” said Racquel Knight, the director for the Central and Western Mass Women Business Center, at the Center for Women and Enterprise. “Where we come in, we try to get rid of that stigma. With all the resources we have we want to make sure that clients have access to it and whether it's just an idea we are here to help you develop that idea, cultivate that idea. It's basically making a dream come true in business."

Since the Central Massachusetts branch of the Center for Women and Enterprise opened in 1999, they've offered more than 13,000 women training, created more than 11,000 jobs, and generated $356 million in wages through entrepreneurs.
