HIGH POINT, N.C. — A new integrated health care service is opening and it's the first of its kind in High Point.
Mindful Innovations offers mental health and primary care services.
What You Need To Know
- Mindful Innovations, a new integrated heath care service, is Black-owned
- The clinic is the first in High Point, and the only practice in the city with two Black women providers
- It opened this year to offer mental health and primary care services
Owner Crystal Montague is a High Point native and a two-time graduate of Winston-Salem State University. She says the clinic is addressing the lack of diversity in mental health care treatment.
“It's very sad to see," Montague, also a psychiatric and nurse practitioner, said. "Many of my patients that I do have should’ve been seen several years ago.”
The clinic is the only practice in the city with two Black women providers.
"We have an all African American staff at this time," Montague said. "To offer some diversity to eliminate the stigma in the community for those that are seeking care and do not feel comfortable coming for care.”
Montague also works with nurse practitioner students as part of their residency. Students can go through a program to work or contact the office directly to complete clinical rotations at the office.
