ASHEBORO, N.C. — The North Carolina Zoo is getting some big attention, thanks to a new series on Disney+.         

It's called "Secrets of the Zoo: North Carolina" and it’s available now. Zoo officials say the series is giving a lot of behind-the-scenes access to what they do and they hope they get the chance to show even more.

"Obviously, we've only gotten one season and there is so much to show about what we do at the North Carolina Zoo. Again, they really, really highlight the animal care and the welfare that we provide the animals and a lot of the veterinary care. We've got people going out and doing conservation work, horticulture teams. There's a lot more to spotlight and we're really hoping to do so," director J.B. Minter said.

There's no word yet on whether the show will return for a second season. The North Carolina Zoo is the world's largest natural habitat zoo.
