GREENSBORO, N.C. – NBA champion J.R. Smith is going back to school.

Making an appearance at the Wyndham Championship Thursday, Smith says he plans to enroll at North Carolina A&T. Smith, who went to the NBA after high school, says he's looking forward to the college experience and being an Aggie.

"I can't wait to be a part of the HBCU family. I can't wait to see the students... and start going to some of the football games repping Aggie pride," he said.

Smith plans on attending the university in the fall. If all goes according to plan, he will try to walk on to the Aggies’ golf team.
