ASHEBORO, N.C. — In a world that has become increasingly reliant on computer access and virtual spaces, many people may feel left behind.
Randolph Community College is helping to bridge that gap between seniors and computer access during the pandemic. It’s offering in-person courses to teach seniors basic skills, like Zoom.
Eldora Allen is completing the course. She says she's now able to communicate virtually, including friends and family and even attend virtual church services thanks to the class.
“I learned how to set up a Zoom meeting, to participate in a Zoom meeting and even to have one on my own computer," Allen said.
Randolph Community College's Zoom classes will be held once a month until June. The college also offers beginning computer classes.
