GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating after a reported shooting near the Guilford County Courthouse.

"At approximately 11:30 am Greensboro Police along with Guilford County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 201 S. Eugene Street in reference to a shooting in progress call. Upon arrival police located three adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the individuals were transported to local hospitals," police said in a news release. 

As of now, officers don’t think this was a random incident because it happened in broad daylight. 

In the same press release, officers say, "One of the adult males transported succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Avion Imeen McLean, 20 years of Laurinburg. The other individual transported is in critical condition. The third individual had injuries not considered to be not life threatening."

The incident put the courthouse under lockdown.
