GREENSBORO, N.C. — Hotels as well as bed and breakfast’s in Greensboro are seeing an increased number of guests due to the High Point Market Trade Show.

Since March, Double Oaks Bed and Breakfast, like many other businesses, has struggled through the pandemic. They turned to building pizzas and hosting "wine Wednesdays" to keep the business afloat.

However, things are marking a turn-around now that the High Point Furniture Market is back in town. The event typically draws between 75,000 to 80,000 attendees every year. This year, registration with the furniture market is down 45 percent compared to last fall. But, for James Keith at Double Oaks Bed & Breakfast, this is still a win.

“We did have to cancel previous reservations and refund those but then more people came in that hadn’t planned to be at furniture market, and now we are fully booked," Keith says.

Of course that's an issue the Keith doesn’t mind having after a number of rough months.

“We still get people and have to turn away people, which we hate doing that but I’d rather be full," he adds.

The furniture market ends October 21.
