LEXINGTON, N.C. – Many people are itching to get outside and enjoy the great outdoor attractions North Carolina has to offer, especially during the pandemic.

There's a new wakeboarding attraction called Elevated Wake Park in Lexington, and instructor Dylan Mead says this wake park has attracted all ages and skill levels since it opened in early May.

Mead says people are really wanting to get out of the house and be active, and the wake park is a great place to have fun and be safe since it's very easy to socially distance.

“I think it's primarily because football, baseball, all of that is canceled throughout the summer, so people are looking for other activities to get outside and have some fun,” Mead explains.

The U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte and Winston Waterworks Water Park in Winston-Salem are also open this summer.
