GREENSBORO, N.C. — The City of Greensboro's annual re-enactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse was supposed to take place this weekend, but is now canceled due to concerns about COVID-19.

The popular event allows visitors a chance to participate in living history programs, demonstrations, soldier encampments, and battlefield tours throughout the park.
Re-enactors said they're disappointed to not have the opportunity to educate.
“They’re not going to have the opportunity to see these things,” narrator Jay Callaham said. “We're not going to get the fellowship we were looking for as well as just the enjoyment of doing this."
This year’s Battle of Guilford Courthouse re-enactment would have commemorated the 239th anniversary.
