WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Local teens are celebrating the anniversary of a youth program working to improve the substitute and foster care system.
For 22 years, leaders of SaySo, “Strong Able Youth Speaking Out,” have been educating the community, speaking out about needed changes, and providing support to youth in care.
One member said he was adopted by his grandmother when the group changed his life.
“I realized when it came to my family it was just a very rough era,” Carloe Moser said. “But I’m thankful. I was able to stay connected to them, but it also helped me to stay connected to SaySo to see a different family.”
